Let's Talk Tallow.  

Specifically, grass-fed leif tallow is a powerhouse of nutrition supporting the body in a variety of ways, as well as having many uses in daily living.  Leif tallow is high in Vitamins A, B12, D, E, and K.  It contains choline and fatty acids (Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), oleic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid.  Combined, these nutritives are essential in promoting skin hydration and well-hydrated skin is healthy skin.  Hydrated skin is more elastic -- boosting skin’s primary purpose -- to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out! Tallow is excellent for protecting skin from external pollutants, as well as, being an excellent carrier for essential oils and botanicals.   

Why grass-fed?  Tallow is the fat that surrounds the kidneys of cows, once refered to as 'liquid gold' and an important, and treasured, product before industrialized farming became the norm.  The optimal health of the cow ensures a quality product, which is why grass-fed is so important.  We clearly understand, in this day and age, that using clean, pure, unadultered, natural ingredients in our body is as important as what we put on our body.  The skin is our largest organ and it has an important job of protecting our inner organs and all of our other jewels from external environmental factors.  Tallow is excellent for a varitey of skin conditions including rosacea, psoriases and ecsema.  

Magnesium is a mineral that has numerous benefits for overall health and well-being.  We once bathed and swam in rivers, streams, and springs that ran clean and unadulterated absorbing the essential minerals through our skin.  Our skin drank in the mineral-rich waters. Of course, we drank from these sources as well.  Perhaps using magnesium creams have been so soothing and healing for so many people beacuse it addresses what is lacking in todays culture of bathing in water that has been chemically treated and sterilized.

Magnesium is far more effective when taken topically instead of internally.  With topical application magnesium quickly targets muscle spasms, aches, restless leg, arthritis, tennis elbow and aids with the overall need to relax and unwind.  Our formula uses a quality pharmaceutical-grade magnesium chloride.  This is a superior magnesium because it is formulated to offer the greatest benefits of magnesium from topical use.

Because we use real, unrefined botanical oils, slight color changes over time are completely normal and a sign of a living formula — not spoilage.

For example, Liquid Gold Tallow Face Cream is made by combining tallow and unrefined plant oils — specifically sea buckthorn fruit pulp, which is naturally very rich in carotenoids. Over time, those pigments gently shift with light and oxygen, and the product may move from a warm golden-orange to a soft sea-foam green. This is a natural color change and does not affect freshness or safety.  Importantly, the texture stays the same, the scent stays true, and the performance doesnʻt change.

What you are seeing is a natural pigment + light + oxidation shift. This is normal and expected in real, unrefined botanical formulas that do not contain artificial chemicals or preservatives. Because our skin care contains only naturally occuring preservatives instead of artificial chemicals, our products are best kept away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Use and enjoy them on a daily basis for optimum benefits and freshness.
